Awards

Awarded for demonstrated excellence in Tertiary Agriculture Education by the Australian Council of Deans of Agriculture (ACDA). Awards are for excellence in curriculum design, student support, peer support, and/or leadership to influence and enhance the student learning experience in an enduring manner. This award is intended to recognise significant and sustained contributions to Australian Agriculture Education.

  • AWARD: Ms Stacey Carter and the F3AST team at Curtin University [Dr Natalie Morgan, Prof Sarita Bennett, Dr Bec Swift, Dr Katherine Zulak, Dr Alaa Nayyef, Dr Nicholas George, Dr Jacob Hawkins] for Producing Industry Ready Graduates.

  • Early Career High Commendation: Dr Derek Long at University of Southern Queensland for the Use of GenAI as an assistive tool to help ag-tech students learn programming skills.

  • High Commendation: Assoc Prof Jay Bose and the Protected Cropping Team at University of Western Sydney [Dr Robert Sharwood, Dr Michelle Mak, Mr David Randall, Dr Jing He, Prof Oula Ghannoum, Prof Zhonghua Chen] for the development of industry-driven curriculum for protected cropping.

2024 

  • AWARD: Dr Jazmine Skinner from the University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ) for enhancing the blended learning experience for both on-campus and external students

  • High Commendation: Professor Sarita Bennett from Curtin University for incorporating precision agriculture and associated technologies through work integrated learning into agricultural courses at Curtin University.

2019 

  • EARLY CAREER AWARD: Dr Richard Flavel (University of New England) for creating paddock-ready graduates through problem learning.

  • Early Career High Commendation: Dr Celia Connor (Charles Sturt University) for fostering adaptive thinking in a changing landscape.

  • AWARD: Dr Kerry Wilkinson (University of Adelaide) for innovative online learning approaches.

  • EARLY CAREER AWARD: Dr Ashlea Doolette (University of Adelaide) for innovative teaching of soil science.
